MUD Version 4E(41)

Since the last issue of Muddled Times, a new version of MUD has been released. Here is a list of changes and new features.

  • Fixed capitalisation of "Straddling" when looking south from Crow's nest.
  • Spelling mistakes/typos fixed in: Briar path, lotus flower, Copse, Southern walk, Pilgrims' hospice, Threshhold of pagoda, mince pie, Niche room, Ledge, Bottom of ledge, Narrow passage, Underground river, Above cavern, East part of goblin dwelling, Inside goblin dwelling, North part of goblin dwelling, Fourth floor of keep
  • Message for blocked exit from Beneath ring of stones fixed
  • Typo fixed in EXECUTE silly
  • Typo fixed with rainbow developing
  • Typo fixed in PUSH silly
  • Improved HIT WALL WI MO message

Bugs:

  • Fixed waking in front of BASILISK from not killing you.
  • Rainbow now can't be seen while asleep
  • Fixed REGARD - it doesn't mean UNIGNORE
  • Drinking potion "summon treasure" in the ladder room no longer causes a crash
  • Fixed VIS before magic warming up from detecting wizzes
  • Fixed value of zombie that resemble players
  • Fixed a bug introduced in an earlier version picking the wrong potion type for "two effects" vials
  • Fixed hedgehog duplication bug
  • Fixed a bug whereby mobiles would attack a player indiscriminately if that player had eaten a truffle
  • Fixed buggy message when pushing the dead ox
  • Fixed BAROMETER breaking THEN hanging on the wall
  • Fixed wizzes being able to KILL MORTAL outside of current room
  • Fixed afflictions wearing off too soon due to prior afflictions
  • Fixed error with HI/BYE reporting the wrong player ignoring you
  • Changed the way deposit works to prevent players from losing their keeps
  • Stopped SPIN BOTTLE from crashing the game
  • Fixed corruption of coloured prefixes when added to

Mobiles:

  • VAMPIRE strength decreased and dexterity increased
  • Allow LOBSTER to be picked up when unconcious
  • Some new mobiles added
  • The CENTIPEDE is no longer INSECT, it's an ARTHROPOD
  • SWAN is now heavier for consistency

Changes:

  • Multiple prefixes now maintain colour
  • Weeing on an unlit flame (e.g. BRAND) has been prevented
  • A sensible message is now given for FORGEing non-swords
  • Third-person message for PHEW added
  • Altered the effect of RING6
  • Mortal FOD chances altered slightly
  • Dexterity and strength penalities for holding objects have been updated
  • Players who attempt to steal boats at sea are now occasionally capsized
  • Altered the effect of the AMULET
  • Prevented aggressive actions while fleeing such as stealing and re-attacks
  • Increased value of PENDANT
  • Ferocity of flame required to ignite GUNPOWDER increased
  • Prevented PLAY PIANO from causing sleep in fights
  • Prevented PIANO from being pushed
  • Changed the way drain works when wearing NIGHTCAP
  • Points for spring changed, now also time based
  • Allow people to SPIN/TWIRL the PARASOL
  • WISH NAME IS now goes to wizzes, not to name
  • You can now see a flower in the POSY VASE
  • Removed the AFK command for mortals as it was not in keeping with game mystique
  • Version number updated
