Blue room.
This is a smallish room, painted in a bright royal blue for some reason, from the
ceiling to the floor. The way out is to the southwest, through an opening for a
vertically sliding panel. The sliding panel is lowered. A deep-blue sapphire attracts
your gaze nearby. A glorious, royal-blue sapphire has been dropped here. An ornament of
wedgwood pottery lies here.
Standing in the corner of the room, surrounded by a strange yellow haze, the mysterious
form of ((Olazabal the golfing wizard)) can just be identified.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says waves.
(Karya the melancholy witch) waves.
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "You just recently made wiz - congratulations btw, how
does that feel?".

(Olazabal the golfing wizard)
(Karya the melancholy witch)
Ursula the presumptuous necromancess
Rage the swordsman
Wulf the hero
Shalakazam the dragon-slaying superhero
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "strange, many feelings, relief, saddness,
joy".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "why sadness?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "the game will never be the same again for me,
it was fun being a mortal:)".
In the distance, you hear the rumble of thunder.
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "Why did you chose to make wiz then?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "the ultimate challenge, the main goal of the
game. I also wanted to see what other things a wiz could do and so far I havent been
disappointed.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) smiles.
In the distance, you hear an incredibly loud >*B*O*O*M*<.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "dont get me wrong wiz and mortal both good, but very
different.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) nods.
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "How long had you been playing mortal for?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "mmm just over 3 years I think. I started
about March 99 and wizzed April 02".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "How did you discover this game?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "my friends from home, wdi, gdn, thor and joey
were all playing. They were talking about this MUD all the time and I thought what the
hell are they on about. Anyway I got a pc soon after and thought I would try it.".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "I played in secret for 6 months as well :)".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "They didn't realise you were playing?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) shakes.
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "So you turned up one day on mud as yourself and
amazed them with your natural applitude to play this game?".
(Karya the melancholy witch) grins.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) shakes.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "I gave them clues often but they never
guessed. Eventually I told them".
(Karya the melancholy witch) says "ahh".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "What name did you first play as?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "I was olazabal basically right from the
start".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "but first name ever was Starfox".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "then Goater".
(Karya the melancholy witch) says "ah, I remember someone playing as Starfox".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) nods.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "I used it occasionally throughout".
For your information: there are 125 mobiles still alive.
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "why did you chose the name Olazabal?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "well I am a golf fan, and the winner of the
Us Masters in 99 was Josie Maria Olazabal. I thought it worked well as a name so I kept
it.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "Did you find any disadvantages to playing this game
with a number of your friends?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "well at first I was clearly much less
experienced them then and sometimes they did take advantage of my inability. For example
doing the crown with gdn and getting it about once every 8 :)".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "but it was also helpful, as I learned
somethings far quicker then I would have done on my own.".
In the distance, you hear a loud "MOO".
(Karya the melancholy witch) nods.
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "you've beaten most of them to wiz too, how does that
feel?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "pleasing, although it would have been better
if they were still all playing.".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "and the amount of time we all played it and
for only 2 of us to get there so far is also quite honourable.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) nods.
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "had you played any other muds prior to this mud, or
tried any since?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "I hadn't played any before this. I have tried
an odd one since but very briefly as I have found them far too boring and difficult to
know what to do.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "what were your first impressions of this mud?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "well from listening to my mates I had a brief
idea of what I had to do. However my first few games were very confusing as the land
seemed huge.".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "however I quickly got into it and slowly
began to get to grips with it.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) says "If you've been playing since March 99 you must have
seen the game evolve and change a number of times".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "yeah big changes".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "I remember the day wireplay went to 1p a min,
wdi told me, that was a significant change as it meant I could play far more. At forst
it was 2.5p a minute so hours of play were limited.".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "then of course the isp's becoming free was
also a dramatic change as it meant even more people were playing.".
In the distance, you hear the clear notes of a flute ringing through the air.
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "from a mortal perspective, was that good or bad?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "mmm the free isp's caused a few problems as
abuse levels went through the roof, but despite that it was good to get a wider range of
players.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "what was the next big change you saw?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "the move to pheonix I would say. That caused
player numbers to drop steeply at first, but slowly more and more are returning or new
players are starting the game as well.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "as well as there being less players, how else would
you say the game has changed from when you first started playing, if at all?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "it hard to say as the way you look at the
game from a newbie point of view to that of an experienced player is different.".
In the distance, you hear the mighty ROARRRR of a lion.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "the mobile bashes of old are all Ii can think
off".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "thirty plus all working together was great.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) nods.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "the giant area also made a big change".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "but apart from that I dont think the game has
altered that much during my time.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "What is your biggest gripe about the game?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "the game is very open for anyone with a
grudge to log on, enter there name as Olaziscrap and spend the set abusing you
physically and verbally.".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "but there is no way to resolve a problem such
as that.".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "other then that, excessive wizmorting. But
everyone says that.:)".
(Karya the melancholy witch) grins.
(Karya the melancholy witch) says "wizmorting need not be what people perceive to be
anti-social behaviour, there are nice wizmorts too".
(Karya the melancholy witch) grins.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) grins.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "really, even when your a 170k mage ?".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "what do you particularly enjoy about the game?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "oww, so much to chose from.".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "I have never been fond of pk'in so I rarely did that
unless it was necesssary.".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "I love the vast quantities of things to be done. My
favourites are the keep and crown but they are all great.".
You hear a rushing sound in the distance, as if a huge torrent of water has just started
to flood somewhere.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "the puzzle solving as a younger mortal was also
amazing.".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "so satisfying".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "What is your favourite area of The Land?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "mmm tough one".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "probably the cave area".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "first area I really got my teeth into. Plus
there are good points to be had here if you have the knowledge.".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "and also the inner sanctum is a grand place".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "another early discovery, accidently found my
way there as a relative newbie with gandalf.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "you accidently ended up in the inner sanctum as a
newbie?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "well playing a few weeks, yeah was pestering
players about an item and eventually they let me join in. Obviously it went wrong and I
was in the sanctum, however I somehow won.:)".
(Karya the melancholy witch) grins.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "I find all of the areas on tour3 great places
though, it hard to chose one of them:)".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "Why did you chose here to be interviewed?".

(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "first puzzle I used to do on a regular basis.
Also I like the fact that the room name is in colour.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) nods.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "apart from green I mean".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "as a newbie the treasure in here is worth quite a
lot.".
----*val t
The value of the wedgwood is 52 points.
The value of the sapphire3 is 104 points.
The value of the sapphire1 is 104 points.
OK, (Karya the melancholy witch) nods.
(Karya the melancholy witch) says "You don't see this room being cleared very often
these days".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) shakes.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "I think it hard to find and work out what to
do. Maybe that and the goblins puts off a few players in exploring down here ?".
(Karya the melancholy witch) nods.
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "When you first started playing, apart from your
friends, who were the biggest influences on you, either in a good or bad way?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "I quickly made good friends with a few
players, but the name that stands out would have to be Seamus.".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "other then that I would say Azrael".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "in what ways did Seamus and Azrael influence you?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "Seamus and I worked out many of the easier
puzzles together and regularly did keep dwarfs etc together. So he really helped me
improve quickly".
For your information: there are 100 mobiles still alive.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "as for az, it hard to say. I suppose I tried
to copy his style of reset i.e do dragon then this etc. Plus he was bloody fast".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "also Rreverence. I had many fights with him
and despite him normally winning it improved my fighting skills I would say.".
Auto-reset initiated, you have 120 seconds to finish up. No further warnings will
be issued!
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "How did you lose your first high-life?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "define highlife? You mean mage?".
(Karya the melancholy witch) says "warlock or mage".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "my first warlock got to mage actually.".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "my first mage died to dragon. Buford forced
me n.k dragon and I died.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) cringes.
Something magical is happening.

(Karya the melancholy witch) waves.
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "I remember you losing a warlock to the snugglepuss in
a mobile bash once, how DID that happen?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "no idea. It got some massive hits in. That is
to date my most embarrasing death of all time.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) grins.
(Karya the melancholy witch) exclaims "That must have been really unlucky!".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) nods.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "water under the bridge though".
(Karya the melancholy witch) nods.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "going back to influence your article on your
wiz run in response to Brocken also encouraged me during my mortal time.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "ah, in what way?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "it seemed you had a nightmare of a run, but
you had determination to keep going. Too often in the past I had fodded a persona after a
few silly deaths or flees, however with this mage I stayed focused, stayed determined and
it worked.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) nods.
(Karya the melancholy witch) says "It's very easy to get disheartened, which is why I
feel when you DO make it, it makes it even so much more worth while".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) nods.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "have to fight to get through the bad times".
(Karya the melancholy witch) nods.
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "Now you're here as a wiz, do you have any plans to do
anything in particularly as a wiz?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "well the first plans were to get a prefix and a
tombstone and other such things. I now have those. For now being at university it's
hard to do anything big until the summer. However when summer comes I will have a
think and see what ideas I can think of.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) nods.
In the distance, you hear a loud "MOO".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "What is your favourite memory from when you were a
mortal, an amusing ancedote, or something that really stuck in your mind?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "it would have to be the first time I slayed
the dragon. I was pretty scared and remember staying on the isle for 10 mins until she
died.:)".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "you stayed on the Island??".
(Karya the melancholy witch) goggles.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) nods.
(Karya the melancholy witch) says "blimey".
(Karya the melancholy witch) grins.
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "didnt know how to get back. Amazingly risky
looking back.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) nods.
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "Did you just keep going around in circles?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) nods.
(Karya the melancholy witch) exclaims "that's pretty impressive!".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "to be honest I was looking for her to see
what she did. Somehow I never found her".
(Karya the melancholy witch) says "and luckily for you she never found you".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "of course another memory that sticks out is
the dragon attack on 188k".
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "What happened there?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "it just attacked mid string. I survived the
flee and got the points back, however at the time it seemed the end of the world.".
(Karya the melancholy witch) nods.
(Karya the melancholy witch) asks "How much did you lose?".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "over 33k".
(Karya the melancholy witch) cringes.
(Karya the melancholy witch) says "so that concludes this interview, thankyou for
letting me interview you".
(Olazabal the golfing wizard) says "no problem, thankyou!".
(Karya the melancholy witch) smiles.
